Dzongkha is the national language of Bhutan. It has some
similarity to Tibetan in speaking, while the alphabets
are exactly same as Tibetan (but uses different style of
scripts). The Ngultrum,
often denoted by BTN, is the official currency used in
Bhutan. Equal in value to the Indian Rupee (through a
1:1 peg), the currency is subdivided into 100 chertrums. The
population of Bhutan in 2003 was estimated by
the United Nations at 2257000,
which placed it as number 139 in population among
the 193 nations of the world. Thimphu
is the capital of Royal State of Bhutan
and the best kept secret destination in the world.
