Study Accounting at Andover College Lewiston

Accounting:

The accounting program teaches students both technical accounting skills and interpersonal and written communication skills. The curriculum is presented in a manner that allows students to work toward their degree and at the same time prepare for the certifications that leaders in the business community have specifically noted as valued and required skills. The program is designed to prepare the student for successful completion of all three parts of the Certified Bookkeeper Exam, as administered by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB). At least two years' full-time experience, or the part-time or freelance equivalent, is necessary in order to become an AIPB Certified Bookkeeper. This program will also assist students in preparing for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) exam. Please refer to the \Certification, State Board, and National Board Exams" section of the catalog for further guidance on all exams."

Andover College offers opportunity to all students; provides programs that develop student potential into career competence; and contributes to community as a campus environment and as a civic neighbor.

The academic career preparation programs at Andover College offer the opportunity for all students to broaden their career options and improve their career status. In today’s dynamic employment market, personal financial independence through career growth requires continuing education and cutting-edge training. The Andover mission is to provide that education and training through a positive learning experience to empower students to achieve their personal career goals.
