Study at Texas A&M University
Texas A&M University, state-assisted land-, sea-, and space-grant
institution of higher learning, located in College Station, Texas. A
marine-oriented branch campus is located in Galveston. Founded in 1871
as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, the university was
opened in 1876 and adopted its present name in 1963.
The university comprises ten academic units: the colleges of agriculture
and life sciences, architecture, business administration and graduate
school of business, education, engineering, geosciences and maritime
studies, liberal arts, medicine, science, and veterinary medicine.
Bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degrees are conferred.
The university's school of military sciences and corps of cadets offers
military commission opportunities in all four of the United States armed
services.
