EXCELLENCE IN BOYS’ EDUCATION
Canberra Grammar School is the leading Anglican boys’ school in Canberra offering a holistic and academically excellent Anglican education for boys from Pre-School to Year 12 and girls from Pre-School to Year 2. Situated on 20 hectares in the leafy inner southern suburb of Red Hill the School provides a nurturing yet challenging environment where more than 1500 children can achieve their very best academic results and where they are continually encouraged to reach their full potential.
We aim to develop cultured young people who are ready for today's world and the future who are balanced in intellectual spiritual emotional and physical aspects and who have a love of learning and a willingness to serve fellow students and the wider community. Embracing all that the School and the national capital offer the young men who complete their schooling here are ready and willing to take their place in a global community. All students are encouraged by committed and expert members of staff who value excellence in learning. Boys are motivated to set themselves challenging and worthwhile goals and to work enthusiastically toward achieving them. Each student will be involved in the School's extensive co-curricular program. The range of activities allows students to explore and develop their own particular talents. The effects on their self-esteem and confidence are profound and lasting.

The Christian foundation of Canberra Grammar School is central to its purpose and daily life. Pastoral Care is one of the distinctive features of the School extending across all facets of education and involving all teaching staff. Every member of staff understands themselves to be part of a team devoted to ensuring the academic physical emotional and spiritual growth of each child. Pastoral Care embraces all facets of the education of the child.
Canberra Grammar School began life as a boarding school for boys in 1929 and boarding is still the heart and soul of the school. We provide a secure supportive and happy boarding environment for boys from Years 7-12. Boarders can be with us for part or all of their secondary schooling; dayboys can experience boarding for a week or even overnight. Boarders join our community from rural and regional Australia and from overseas. Many are the sons of diplomatic and Defence families serving abroad.
