Welcome to La Salle College

La Salle College is a co-educational Catholic secondary school founded by the De La Salle Brothers in 1954. Situated in the Swan Valley region of Western Australia la Salle College has been providing outstanding opportunities for our students ensuring that we cater for the diverse educational physical social and spiritual needs of over 1400 students in Years 7-12.

Curriculum

Reflective of La Salle College’s “commitment to excellence” the diverse curriculum at the College provides opportunities for students to discover and develop their gifts and talents. Rich and rigorous Religious Education programmes are taught across all year levels at La Salle College. English mathematics science and History in Years 7-10 are based on the Australian Curriculum and complemented by subjects offered in Health & Physical Education languages performing Arts society & Environment and Technology & Enterprise. Western Australian Certificate of Education courses vocational Education & Training and offsite work experience provide Year 11 and 12 students with opportunities in preparing for a number of different career pathways.

La Salle College offers a multitude of co-curricular activities in the areas of Christian Service sporting the Arts community and academic.

Special Features

La Salle College has buildings constructed in the 1950’s coexisting with contemporary architecturally designed facilities built in the 21st Century. The College is well resourced with buildings such as the St John Baptist de La Salle Chapel the Nicolas Barre Auditorium state of art Br Fitzhardinge Design and Technology Centre photographic and Art facilities the Jan Jolley Library and the Fr Laurence Murphy Senior Learning Centre incorporating the Michael Ciccarelli Lecture Theatre. The sporting life of La Salle College is well resourced with the Patricia Rodrigues Centre the Matthew Kennedy 10 lane mswimming pool large ovals and tennis / basketball / netball courts. All learning areas within the College are fully resourced with up to date equipment and learning technologies enabling the students to be well skilled for future employment. The buildings are set within practical and aesthetically pleasing grounds that provide a warm and friendly atmosphere. In 2014 La Salle College in partnership with St Joseph’s College Northam will develop a state of the art trade training facility. This new development will place the College at the forefront of training in areas such as metal fabrication design and technology. The opportunities and learning that will be provided to La Salle College students will enable them to be fully prepared for an ever changing employment market where flexibility of skills and expertise in the use of technology are highly valued.
