Language of Instruction English International School Dhaka (ISD) is an international and co-educational, private day school for students from Playgroup to Grade 12. Founded in 1999, ISD graduated its first students in May 2007. ISD is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). We are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) as an IB World School and offer three International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes. The Primary Years (PYP), Middle Years (MYP) Programmes, and IB Diploma (DP) Programme provides an international educational experience. The IB Learner Profile is at the heart of these programmes and provides a common framework that builds international mindedness. Our academic year consists of two semesters that run from August - December and January - June. ISD offers its students high quality teaching and learning facilities, occupying an attractive purpose-built campus with an Early Years Centre, Primary School Building, and Secondary Building, swimming pool, 380 seat auditorium, gymnasium and playing fields all located in the new residential district of Bashundhara to the north of Dhaka city. Our faculty combines educators both from within Bangladesh and abroad with citizens of 17 different countries represented. Our location in Bangladesh offers extensive opportunities for ISD students to self-initiate projects and work with non-government organizations to take part in community service experiences related to educational, environmental, and developmental issues. Many of these projects are incorporated into our wide range of Co-Curricular Programs (CCPs) operating after school and on weekends. A wide variety of sports, outdoor pursuits as well as opportunities in visual and performing arts are available. International School Dhaka is a welcoming, friendly community.
