The University of Bolton
We have an outstanding record in helping our students succeed, and a reputation as one of the leading universities in Britain when it comes to student support. Our location means we are only half an hour from Liverpool's and Manchester’s airports and big city facilities, but our size and our values ensure no one feels anonymous. Our teaching quality has been rated “excellent” in subjects including biology, education, health studies, nursing, philosophy, psychology and textiles, and our innovative research in metallurgy and materials, English and philosophy is recognised as having international importance. Our approach to enterprise is rapidly making us a first stop for developing businesses and the local community. International Students
The University of Bolton has a long and distinguished record of welcoming students from all over the world, providing a thriving and diverse environment for study and success. There are students of over 70 nationalities currently enrolled on a wide range of courses that match the careers routes they wish to pursue, and which lead to internationally recognised qualifications.
The Centre for International Relations was established in 2002 and with the University of Bolton’s award-winning Students Centre, it provides information, help and advice to international students, their partners and families, on everything from visas to accommodation to finances to employment.
THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETYThe International Society began at Bolton more than a decade ago with the aim of bringing Bolton's international students and interested United Kingdom students together in a social and recreational environment. The Society is run by a committee of students. It maintains good links with local Rotary Clubs and businesses and regularly organises trips to places of cultural interest around the United Kingdom or to entertainment and social events. The Society's annual trip to the illuminations in Blackpool is one of the most popular events in the calendar. The International Society is the biggest society at the university with almost 300 current members; it is funded both from within and by some donations from outside organisations such as the local Rotary Clubs. Once a year the Society arranges an International evening where students are encouraged to bring along examples of their own cultures and food stuffs so that fellow students and other guests attending the event can enjoy the experience of something different. "It has been the best experience of my life. When I have had a problem, the lecturers were always there." Miss Praxedes Landze (Cameroon MBA student) |
