a Québec community college founded in 1969. Located in the city of
Laval, the CLMI rests literally in the shadows of the beautiful
Laurentian foothills just north of Montréal, the second largest
French-speaking city in the world. An
ideal location to learn French, the CLMI offers flexible scheduling,
state of the art facilities and French-language classes taught by
top-notch certified teachers. Collège
Montmorency is a community college with an established reputation in
language education.
Our
immersion programs of 18 or 25 hours per week offer you friendly,
comprehensive language training complemented with a variety of unique
cultural, sports and sightseeing opportunities.
The
placement test is divided into three parts: 1. An evaluation of the student's oral comprehension and oral
production. This evaluation takes the shape of an interview during which
the person responsible for the evaluation will ask general questions to
the student in order to determine his/her level of competence in the
area of oral interaction. 2. An evaluation of the student's written comprehension. The student
will undergo an exam during which he/she will have to answer some
questions that will test his/her knowledge of grammar and overall
comprehension of a short text. 3. An evaluation of the student's written production. The student
will write a short text on a predetermined subject. The
student will have a limited time to undergo the placement test. The
level of competence in French as a second language is assigned following
the scale of Niveaux de compétence en français langue seconde pour les
immigrants adultes (Levels of competence in French as a second language
for the adult immigrant) created by the Université de Montréal, McGill
University and the Ministère des Relations avec les citoyens et de
l'Immigration (Minister of Relations with the Citizens and Immigration). -
