Life in Toronto
Toronto is one of the most culturally diverse cities
in the world and this is reflected in a wonderful mosaic
of distinctive neighbourhoods. Michener is located in
the heart of a student-focused community, along with
five other universities and colleges.
Toronto has a rich nightlife, and being in the heart
of downtown puts you in reach of an impressive list of
nighttime diversions. When it comes time for a study
break, you'll have dozens of eclectic nightspots to
discover. You'll find everything from massive, 3-storey
nightclubs to smaller, more intimate martini bars,
coffeehouses and restaurants.
A Shopper's Paradise
Michener is within walking distance of several
shopping areas; each with their own distinct style. You
can go window-shopping along trendy Queen Street West or
indulge in the antique shops, movie star spotting and
high-end designer boutiques in Yorkville. Whatever your
style, you can shop until you drop.
Students who are interested in the arts will find a
diverse art scene that includes a range of galleries and
exhibition spaces. Michener is just steps from the Art
Gallery of Ontario and the Royal Ontario Museum,
Toronto is also the third largest live theatre centre
in the world (after London and New York). You'll find
everything from Broadway-style mega-musicals to fringe
theatre festivals. In addition, lovers of symphony,
ballet, opera, and live music will enjoy countless
opportunities to explore their passions.
