Minimum Entry Requirements

The CIMA qualification is equivalent to a CanadaHonours degree and higher. Therefore, as a general rule you must have:

  • at least five GCSE passes, or local
    equivalent

  • two of the five passes must be at Advanced level

  • two of the five passes must also be in Mathematics and English Language (not necessarily at Advanced Level)

Qualifying

Qualifying as a Chartered Management Accountant means studying for the CIMA qualification and gaining three years' relevant practical experience. There are 4 Stages to the CIMA syllabus with  4 papers at each Stage. CIMA training is flexible allowing you to study at your own pace and time, scheduling your examinations alongside your other commitments.

  • at Stages I, 2 and 3 - you can sit up to six examination papers at a time, subject to timetable constraints.

  • at Stage 4 - you are expected to demonstrate your professional competence, and are therefore required to take all four papers.

CIMA also lets you choose how you study and whilst methods of study will vary from country to country, they may include classes, distance learning and sandwich block release.
