Legal education at UBC reflects the perspectives and research interests of our outstanding faculty, and of the many diverse groups that constitute our student body. UBC's J.D. program is one of the most innovative in Canada, and the international climate and the research strength of the Faculty is enhanced by one of the largest graduate programs in the country, which includes a Ph.D. in Law as well as an LL.M. program.

Students also have the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of student-run organizations and activities, including two law reviews (the UBC Law Review and the Canadian Journal of Family Law), competitive moots at the local, regional, national and international levels, and the Law Students Legal Advice Program, which provides free legal advice to members of the community under the supervision of volunteer lawyers.

This is an exciting time to be considering a legal career the national and international economies are becoming increasingly inter-connected by complex rules for governing matters that range from international trade to human rights while new methods of commerce and advances in science and technology challenge traditional legal categories and policies.
