Costa
Rica is unequivocally a tropical country, situated
between 8° and 11° North latitude, fairly close to the
equator. Although in the mountains above 2000 meters you
get much cooler temperatures, the average annual
temperature for most of the country lies between 21.7°C
and 27°C. |

Language: |
The
primary language spoken in Costa Rica is Spanish. Some
native languages are still spoken in indigenous
reservations the most numerically important are the Bribri, Maléku, Cabécar and Ngäbere languages. |
| Currency: |
The Costa Rican colon, also denoted by
CRC, is the official currency of Costa Rica. The colon
is subdivided into 100 centimos, but coins are rarely
used anymore due to inflation. In 1997, new coins were
issued to replace the older coins. |

United Nations at 4,173,000, which placed it as number
