Learning Support Programme

The British International School, Cairo (BISC) teaches the British National Curriculum from 3-16 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma at 16-18 and has the expectations of first-class UK independent and maintained sector schools. The school is in the first division of independent and selective schools. Sixth formers go on to some of the best universities in the world.

All staff are well qualified and experienced and the vast majority are recruited from the UK. There is a strong and supportive tutorial system for academic and pastoral development. The school is dedicated to the principles of a broad education in its academic curriculum and varied activities programme.

The school brings together over 600 students, in the Junior and Senior Schools, with over 40 nationalities represented within the student body.

It is a non-denominational school, welcoming students from all faiths and traditions and embracing the principles of open-mindedness and understanding.

The school opened its new campus in 2008 in the district of Beverly Hills, located to the west of Cairo. The campus is 65,000m. Each classroom is equipped with leading-edge technology, interactive whiteboards, desktops and ergonomically-designed furniture. Within the school there are six science labs, three ICT suites and two high-tech libraries, all UK-designed. There are dedicated areas for the creative arts, a 660-seat theatre, specialist play areas, six tennis courts, two swimming pools, two football pitches, and basketball courts, a double-sized gymnasium, a fitness suite and running track.

The school is a not-for-profit organization and a member of BSME, COBIS and IAPS.
