Founded in 1989, EurEcole is, by statute, a non-profit association, and has developed a new and unique pedagogical program, based on a balance between art, sport and studies, associated with the daily practice of three languages: French, English and German or Spanish from Pre-Kindergarten to middle school. Early learning is emphasized at all levels and a constant interaction is applied among all the subjects. The French national program is strengthened through other activities such as sports, music, history of art, art and crafts, corporal expression, chess and theater. Languages are taught as a foreign language as well as a mother tongue. A special curriculum has been created for foreign children who are taken care of by a tutor for daily courses in French, in tight collaboration with the principal teacher. Thirty-seven nationalities are represented.
Discovery and integration of European cultures are developed through geographical, cultural, and artistic courses, and monthly outings: beginning in the second grade, schools exchanges and pedagogical trips are arranged to the UK, USA and in Europe.
Individual teaching is given regularly to children who need special reinforcement.
According to this pedagogy, each class size is limited to approximately 22 pupils, with a maximum of 25. Special events are held such as children's work expositions, welcoming of foreign classes, publication of 'Plan?e EurEcole' elaborated by the children, bookshows, open days and a four-language show in June.
All teachers, French, Anglo-Saxon, German and Spanish (and Chinese for extra-curricular workshops), are fully qualified, most of them having worked in different countries.
Classes are held Monday to Friday, with Wednesday afternoon free. The school is open from 08: 30 to 18: 00, and half-boarding arrangements can be made.
The school is located in the 16th district of Paris, between Etoile and Trocad?o.
Admission is based on an individual interview with the child and parents.
