Hong Kong:
Climate: The
climate of Hong Kong is a monsoon-influenced humid
subtropical climate (Köppen climate classification Cwa),
just short of being a tropical wet-and-dry climate.
Language: With the
Chinese control of Hong Kong, Mandarin is being spoken
more often than before. Chinese and English are the two
official languages with Cantonese officially recognized,
as it is the most popular dialect. Currency: The Hong Kong dollar has been previously
linked to the Pound Sterling. In 1971, the Hong Kong
dollar was then pegged to the US dollar with a
fluctuation limit, after the Sterling area was
liquidated.
Visas: Population: Hong Kong's population was estimated to
be 7,116,302 in July 2000. Its population increased from
4.4 million in 1975 to 6.7 million in 1998, indicating a
growth rate of 1.8 percent. Capital City: Hong Kong is a Dependency which comes
under Chinese jurisdiction. The old administrative
capital of Hong Kong was Victoria which has now been
renamed Central so in reality this is the closest to a
