The International School of Modena was established in 1998 to provide quality international education for families of the company Tetra Pak. The school is expanding to meet a strong demand from local and international families and currently has students from over 15 different nationalities, including an increasing host country population.

The International School of Modena is a small school with a welcoming atmosphere.

The school values the uniqueness that each child brings to the school and uses this to provide an environment which encourages students to be independent, self confident learners. There is a stimulating and secure environment, nurturing self-esteem, responsibility and self-discipline.

As an International Baccalaureate Organisation MYP and PYP candidate school, ISM provides a broad, balanced and international curriculum which enables students to take on a full and active role as citizens in an international world.

The school is housed in a new purpose-built facility on a superb site in Montale Rangone, a rural suburb of Modena. It has facilities to allow for expansion and growth, as well as having state-of-the-art features for a modern school designed with the children's educational needs in mind. The specialist areas include a science lab, networked computer suite, art room, library, auditorium, a design technology workshop and a large gymnasium. There is extensive outdoor play area and access to sport facilities in the nearby area. There will be a close connection with an Italian primary school presently being constructed next to the school.

The door-to-door bus service covers a wide area. There are after-school activities offered during each of the three terms. The school year runs from early September to late June.

Admission is based on previous school records and satisfactory references, as well as the suitability of the candidate for the curriculum offered. Students with special needs may be offered limited support and are evaluated for admission on an individual basis with consideration given to the needs of those currently enrolled.
