The Graduate School at Aichi Gakuin University Japan The Graduate School's primary purpose is to promote higher research and the advancement of knowledge and science in response to the complexity of today's society and economy. Its expanded mission is to prepare students and researchers for professional service in all areas. It also provides opportunities for in-service training. Thus, more importance is being placed on graduate schools. Aichi Gakuin University has developed into one of the largest institutions of higher education in Japan, with five doctoral programs in each department. AGU now has ten areas for graduate study, i.e., Letters, Commerce, Management, Law, Policy Studies and Dentistry. A small group seminar system has been set up to respect and cultivate individuality. Each program also provides educational programs specially designed for international students to meet the demands of internationalization.
