Gulistan Education Center is a private educational company which founded the Mehmet Akif College in February 2000 for secondary education, and the International School of Pristina, for primary education (age 6-11), in January 2002.
The International School of Pristina/Mehmet Akif College accepts girls and boys of all nationalities. For non-English speaking students there will be a special English language support through intensive English or ESL courses. The school offers Albanian for the Albanian students, Turkish for the Turkish students, and German or Italian for students of other nationalities.
The placement is based on age, previous school experience, and level of attainment. The curriculum follows the English National Curriculum with special consideration for the international school population and the local national curriculum.
It is intended to move towards adopting the International Baccalaureate Programme in subsequent years at International School of Pristina/Mehmet Akif College.
