Nepal has
a great deal of variation in climate. Its latitude is
about the same as that of Florida, and a tropical and
subtropical climate exists in the Tarai Region. Outside
the Tarai, however, the climate is completely different. |

Nepal's
diverse linguistic heritage evolved from four major
language groups: Indo-Aryan, Tibeto-Burman, Mongolian
and various indigenous language isolates. The major
languages of Nepal are Nepali, Maithili, Bhojpuri ,
Tharu, Tamang, Newari/Nepal Bhasa , Magar, Awadhi, Rai,
Limbu, and Bajjika. |

The Nepalese Rupee, also denoted by NPR,
is the official currency used in Nepal. The NPR is tied
to the Indian Rupee (INR), being 5/8 its value. |

At the
time of the 1981 census, the total population of Nepal
was 15, 022, 839, the average family was made up of 5.8
persons, and life expectancy at birth was close to fifty

The city is the urban core of the Kathmandu Valley in
the Himalayas. |
