Christchurch College of Education (CCE) New Zealand The Christchurch College of Education (CCE) has been educating New
Zealanders for 127 years, and in recent years more and more
international students have favoured us with their attendance.
Specialising in teacher education, professional development, business,
sport coaching and performing arts, the College offers a wide range of
qualifications at masters and bachelor degree level as well as
undergraduate and post-graduate diplomas. Well-known for its innovative
programmes, it is one of the fastest growing tertiary institutions in
New Zealand with almost 7,000 students enrolled in College courses
around the country. This College is recognised as one of the leading
providers in New Zealand of world class courses and qualifications in a

Free parking Support for International Students Our International support staff are here to advise and support you in all aspects of your study experience. We look forward to welcoming you. Your first point of contact when you are considering study with us will be our International Course Advisor, Jaime Bowman. She can help you decide which course is right for you and provide additional information about the application process. Our International Student Advisers, Jacqui Birchall (Teacher Education) or Joanna Tana (School of Business), have the role of assisting you in all aspects of your enrolment until the commencement of your course. Our Senior International Project Coordinator, Lisa Heazlewood is here to support all international students following arrival at College. Lisa is our coordinator for Canadian students as well as other students. Lisa holds 'drop-in' sessions for general advice, support or just a chat throughout the year. The Learning Development Unit offers academic support to help you
develop study skills to reach your goals. Advisors offer a free,
friendly service as well as arranging (where possible) for peer tutors
to assist you further. A comprehensive orientation programme has been designed for international students to familiarise you with life at the College and in New Zealand, and to introduce you to those people who can help you with any difficulties. Orientations are also held for all new students by individual Schools. These may provide insights into the structure of your programme, the New Zealand education system, New Zealand culture etc, as well as giving you the opportunity to meet your new classmates and lecturers. The Christchurch College of Education Students' Association provides common room and recreation facilities, student job search, advocacy and represents all students on College and national committees. The College aims to ensure that all students have equal access to
facilities and opportunities. The Coordinator for Students with
Disabilities is here to assist students with a disability. Brief intro into the city of Christchurch Christchurch is a very special, cosmopolitan city of nearly 400,000 people on the east coast of New Zealand. The diversity of this city ensures that wherever you are from, whatever your age and whatever you like to do that there are a wealth of people and places willing to play host for your every desire. One of the many benefits of Christchurch is the ease of getting around. You can hop on board the well run local bus services which includes a free shuttle around the city centre; you can hire a car or a bike; you can walk its flat streets or even enjoy a punt on the river Avon. Oh, and dont forget the famous Christchurch tram for that extra special trip. A love of shopping can be definitely be catered for in Christchurch, from within the city centre to the malls on the outskirts you will never be far away from a good range of shops. The city centre has more than 600 shops ranging from departments stores to funky little boutiques. Each trip is an adventure so ensure that you visit as many areas as possible for a unique experience unlike anything else. With restaurants, cafes and bars lining the streets you will be safe in the knowledge that you will never go hungry or thirsty in Christchurch. Here you can explore the local tastes or indulge in the numerous international delights waiting to give your taste buds a meal they will never forget. As the sky darkens get out your dancing shoes and explore the many bars and clubs and sample the music. You will find all types of music from jazz to dance to hip hop to 60s and 70s styles.
