Southern Institute of Technology has a proud history of vocational education and training. Established as Southland Polytechnic over 30 years ago and more recently known as Southern Institute of Technology, we provide students with quality education across a range of subject areas and at a variety of levels.

Many of our programmes staircase to higher level qualifications at SIT and other institutions in New Zealand and throughout the world. We are constantly developing these relationships to ensure that our graduates have maximum mobility.

Small classes, interactive learning and a mixture of theory and practice will characterise your study at SIT.  Our learning environment has up-to-date technology and equipment, with 24 hour access to computer facilities. The southern-most Institute of Technology in the world, SIT is nestled at the bottom of New Zealand's South Island in the city of Invercargill.  SIT specialises in English language study, applied learning and vocational training and has been the leading provider of tertiary education in Southland since its establishment in 1971.
