Climate Wanganui and
Palmerston North areas have some of the most temperate climates in the
world. Average maximum summer temperatures are 23 degrees Celsius,
average minimum winter temperatures are 13 degrees Celsius. Academic

The educational
programmes are supported by highly qualified staff, appropriate technology
to meet students' learning needs, and studio and classroom facilities of a
high standard. Full time
students have free Internet access. Student
Welfare/Support: Health Centres are
located on both the Palmerston North and Wanganui campuses where nurses
provide first-step medical advice. In
Wanganui a doctor's clinic is held 4 days per week.
Counselling on stress, health, education and learning support is
also available to students. An
Orientation programme is arranged for all students when they start their
course. Students’
Association AS@U, the Students’
Association, is here to work for you and all other students by providing a
range of services Accommodation: UCOL can offer
students two types of accommodation.
These are homestays, or student flats (Wanganui only).
Prices for homestays vary between $NZ150-175 per week, plus a
one-time placement fee of $NZ150 per student.
Accommodation in the Wanganui student flats costs approximately
$NZ80 per week. Insurance It is compulsory for all fee-paying students to take out medical and travel insurance. Students are advised to arrange this insurance before they leave their home country but, if not possible, the International Officer and Student Co-ordinators will assist in putting this in place.
