ABTI Academy, NigeriaABTI Academy is a co-educational boarding school located close to Yola, in Adamawa state in north east Nigeria, close to the border with Cameroon. The Academy shares a campus with ABTI International School and is next to the site of ABTI American University which, it is proposed, will be accepting its first undergraduate students in 2005. The school opened in September 2002 with 49 students and anticipates 150 students in September 2004 in grades seven and eight of which about two percent are from overseas or have dual nationality. The school is currently providing logistical support to the University implementation committee and has hosted academics from the American University of Washington which is conducting negotiations to form a partnership with ABTI American University. The school is also close to the nursing school and the new Federal Medical Centre. The school limits class sizes of 25 students, and intends to offer a full secondary programme in six years' time. The school's facilities include four purpose-built science laboratories, a computer for every child in the school, a learning resource centre with a wide collection of books and audio visual aids. There are also comprehensive musical facilities, a farm, a mosque, a range of student workshops and air-conditioned classrooms. | ||||||||||||||||||
