The British School - Muscat, formerly known as The Muscat English Speaking School, is an independent, co-educational, multi-national day school. It was founded in 1971 to meet the needs of the English speaking community living in Muscat, and granted a Royal Charter by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in May 1973. The British School - Muscat provides the English National Curriculum to children of the international community (52 nationalities are currently represented) between the ages of 3 and 18, who are entered for End of Key Stage, GCSE, A/S and 'A' Level examinations. The British School - Muscat has approximately 700 students, with a maximum of 22 in each class.
