The Master of Arts in Teaching is an graduate degree
program geared toward career changers and uncertified teachers
who hold a bachelor’s degree in a subject other than education
and want to teach in a secondary classroom (grades 5–12) and
pursue an alternative route to certification. Others targeted
for the program include those who teach at private schools,
those who home school their children, retired individuals,
substitute teachers, and teacher assistants/paraprofessionals.
