The school uses the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization with a full academic programme, and encouragement of self-discipline. There is a strong ESL programme for small sets in all except the final years and also provision for students with special educational needs. The majority of students have English as their first language and often choose it as the language of instruction. Moscow International Gymnasia aims to combine the best aspects of a Russian State Secondary School with the IB curricula, resulting in a school with flexibility and freedom based on the UN diplomatic principles. A well-established afterschool activities programme includes sports, art, music, dance, computer and other activities. The qualified teachers come from Russia and other countries, holding university degrees and certificates of education, and have an average of 20 years' teaching experience. The school year runs from early September to late June, Monday to Friday, 08: 30 to 15: 00. It also offers an after-school programme until 18: 00. There are two libraries, one for primary and one for the secondary school. A modern sports complex with a swimming pool is open for the students.
