Rwanda
has a temperate tropical highland climate, with lower
temperatures than is typical for equatorial countries
due to the high altitude.[99] Kigali, in the centre of
the country, has a typical daily temperature range
between 12 C and 27 C , with little variation through
the year. |

Rwanda
located in Central Africa has three official languages
and some dialects. The Rwanda languages spoken by its
people distinguish between the refugees and the locals. |

The currency in use in Rwanda consists
of Rwanda Franc (RWF) which is divided into 100
centimes. Franc has been in use as the currency of
Rwanda from 1916 after Belgium gained political control.
This was followed by the replacement of German East
African Rupie by the Belgian Congo Franc. |

| Population: | The population of Rwanda in 2003 was
estimated by the United Nations at 8, 387, 000, which
placed it as number 88 in population among the 193
nations of the world. In that year approximately 3% of
the population was over 65 years of age, with another
44% of the population under 15 years of age. |
| Capital City: | Kigali, population 965, 398 (2009), is
the capital and largest city of Rwanda. It is situated
near the geographic centre of the nation, and has been
the economic, cultural, and transport hub of Rwanda
since it became capital at independence in 1962. |
