THE SCHOOL OF DESIGN AND ENVIRONMENT (SDE) has produced more than 3,300 graduates in the 30 years of its existence. These graduates have played an important role in shaping the built environment of Singapore. They include internationally renowned architects; chief executives of major construction and real estate companies and multinational corporations; heads of public sector organisations; and academics at institutions of higher learning.

EXCELLENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

The School receives positive feedback regularly from external examiners, visiting academics and employers on the structure and contents of SDE’s courses, the systems and procedures for course management, the standards attained by students, and the performance of its graduates.

The School’s laboratories are equipped with innovative facilities for research in acoustics, building services, fire safety, indoor air quality, lighting, materials, structures, surveying, thermal effects and wind effects. A state-of-the-art Field Environmental Chamber was recently commissioned for studies into Total Building Performance.
