Aloha College is an independent, co-educational day school for pupils aged 3-18. It is situated on the outskirts of Marbella, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Aloha seeks to provide a safe, stimulating and happy environment in which all of its pupils can thrive. The college was founded in 1982 and is a not-for-profit Foundation which provides an international education for pupils of over 40 nationalities.
Aloha College is divided into a Junior (Foundation Stage to Year 6) and a Senior (Year 7 to Year 13) section, and provides a bilingual English/Spanish education based on the English National Curriculum and on the Spanish National System, LOE. French and German are also offered throughout the whole of Senior School.
In the Senior School students follow courses leading to the Cambridge IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The International Baccalaureate course is recognised and valued highly by universities throughout the world. Aloha commonly has a 100% pass rate in the IB and the Diploma is recognised by the Spanish authorities as equivalent to Selectividad. Students graduate to universities in the UK, Spain, Europe and North America.
The facilities of the college include six science laboratories, 3 ICT suites, a music suite with practice rooms, a library, an art/design studio with photographic dark room and a pottery kiln, 2 basketball pitches and an Astroturf pitch. Classrooms are large and air-conditioned, each with an interactive whiteboard, and there is Wifi connection throughout the whole school.
Lunches are prepared each day in school from an extensive range of menus.
The College operates a bus service to transport pupils to school from the outlying districts to the east and west of Marbella.
All age groups enjoy educational visits in the course of the year, both locally and further afield, and pupils can participate (at no extra charge) in an extensive extra-curricular and sporting activities programme from 4 to 5 pm.
Entry is by interview and examination arranged through the Heads of Junior and Senior School. Aloha College also requires a copy of previous school reports from all prospective pupils. Enquiries should, in the first instance, be directed to the College's Registrar.
