Study at Eastern Oregon UniversityEastern Oregon University, also known as EOU, is a public university in La Grande, Oregon, United States. It was established in the year 1929. The institution was originally known as Eastern Oregon Normal School. EOU is part of the Oregon University System. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse Course Topics. EOU is organized into the following academic divisions: EOU’s official mascot is known as the Mountaineer. Students can actively participate in sports such as baseball, basketball, golf, football, and softball. The campus is home to more than 70 student clubs and organizations. Eastern Oregon University is located in a quiet rural area, in La Grande, OR. The school is a public institution. Degree levels at Eastern Oregon University top out at the Master's degree. Students at the school often study education and teaching. The admissions department at Eastern Oregon University does not accept all those who apply. In 2007, 57% of applicants were rejected at the school. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 430 to 550 in 2007. A quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 550 or higher on the math SAT. The school's tenure system is geared toward rewarding and keeping the most valuable professors.
