Christchurch. Established in 1858, the College is one of the oldest high
schools in New Zealand, and today attracts students from all over the city
and from many countries throughout the world.
At
Hagley we know the importance of education and the right for every student
to receive the best. The College is dedicated to meeting the lifelong
learning needs of adolescents and adults in a way that respects them as
individuals.

Language Requirements
All
International Students will be tested on their arrival for their English
language proficiency and placed at the appropriate level of study.
Students who do not have the required level will be placed in a full-time
English language course until they have reached the required level of
English for Senior College study. For direct entry into the Senior
College, students need to show proof of their English language proficiency
(TOEFL/IELTS) or pass the English language proficiency test at the
College.
Accommodation
The
College can arrange accommodation through a Homestay Accommodation Agency.
The host family will be carefully selected and matched up with the
student. The student is provided with a single furnished room and three
meals per day plus laundry. Living with a New Zealand family gives the
student valuable English language practice and the comfort of family life.
