Study at La Sierra University
La Sierra University, established in 1922 and also known as LSU, is a private, co-educational Christian university, located in inland Southern California, United States. LSU is a part of the seventh-day Adventist, system of higher education. The main campus is spread across an area of 100 acres. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse Course Topics. LSU is organized into the following academic schools and colleges: LSU has an active Athletics department. It sponsors several men’s and women’s sports teams. Their official mascot is known as the Golden Eagle. The campus is also home to many student-run clubs and organizations. La Sierra is located in Riverside, CA (a large city). The school is a Seventh Day Adventists school. La Sierra is a private, not-for-profit institution. The highest degree level offered by the school is the Doctoral degree. La Sierra has a greater breadth of degree programs (majors) than most colleges of its size. The school is known for its programs in music, science, and business and management. La Sierra does not offer open admission. The school admitted just 45% of applicants in 2007. Three quarters of students in 2007 had SAT verbal scores of at least 420. Half of math SAT scores of accepted students fell between 430 and 550. The school has a tenure system for senior faculty. La Sierra had 1,749 enrolled students in 2007. The school has a large minority student population. La Sierra offers dorm rooms to a higher percentage of its students than do most colleges.
