Study at Lakeland College
Lakeland College is located in Sheboygyan, Wisconsin and was established in 1862 by German immigrants. The college was previously named as Missionshaus (Mission House) and was a combined academy-college-seminary. Lakeland College received its present name in 1956 and now offers its students graduate and undergraduate programs. This college has various academic divisions including: The athletic teams in the college are known as Muskie. The male students of Lakeland College participate in sports including basketball, baseball, football, wrestling, tennis and cross country, while the female students participate in sports such as basketball, golf, softball, volleyball, cross country and tennis. The students publish a newspaper on campus called Lakeland Mirror which they use to speak their minds. Lakeland is in Plymouth, WI. Plymouth is a town not far from a more urbanized area. The school is classified as a United Church of Christ college. Lakeland is a private, not-for-profit institution. The school issues awards (degrees) up to the level of Master's degree. Fields of study in vogue at Lakeland include business and management and computer science and engineering. Not all applicants to the school are accepted. The top quarter of students at Lakeland scored at least 550 on the verbal SAT test. Students' math SAT scores were most often in the range 430 to 630 in 2007. The most successful professors at the school are given tenure, encouraging them to stay with the school for a long time. Approximately 3,824 students study at Lakeland (in 2007).
