Study at Marian College
Marian College was originally established as the Saint Francis Normal School in 1851. Founded by the Sisters of St. Francis Oldenburg, the institute merged with the Immaculate Conception Junior College in 1936 and became the Marian College. The institute started offering enrollment to men from the year 1954. The campus of Marian College is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marian College offers a wide variety of degree programs through the following academic divisions: The athletics department of the college fields teams in sports including cycling, baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and track. Nicknamed the Knights, the teams are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the National Collegiate Cycling Association. The main campus of Marian is in Indianapolis, IN (a large city). The school is a Roman Catholic institution. Marian is a private, not-for-profit school. The school offers degrees up to the Master's degree. Marian students most commonly major in a field related to business and management and nursing and emergency medicine. The school does not accept everyone who applies. In 2007, SAT verbal scores of half of students were 440 to 550. Three-fourths of students accepted in 2007 had SAT math scores of 450 or more. The school offers tenure to reward and retain some professors. In 2007, Marian had 2,043 enrolled students. The school makes available a lot of student housing. Student athletes at Marian belong to the Mid-Central College Conference and Mid-States Football Association for major sports.
