Wake Technical Community College, also known as Wake Tech, is a two-year, public institution of higher education and technical training. It was chartered in 1958 as the Wake County Industrial Education Center. The name of the college was changed to Wake Technical Community College in 1987. The college is part of the North Carolina Community College System. Wake Tech enrolls more than 50,000 students every year.
Wake Technical Community College offers more than 80 educational programs and college-university transfer programs leading to bachelor degrees at four-year institutions. The athletics department of the college fields men’s and women’s sports teams. They are nicknamed the Eagles.
