Learning Support Programme
College du L?an is a co-educational boarding and day school located in Versoix, near Geneva. It was founded in 1960 as a university-preparatory school, and is listed on the Professional Register of Swiss Private Schools. The school is accredited by CIS and by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
With 119 different nationalities represented at the school, the curriculum has a strong international component, both in its academic and extra-curricular activities. English and French are both the main languages of instruction.
The school prepares students for the Advanced Placement (AP) examinations, for students intending primarily to enter US/Canadian colleges and universities; the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma for those seeking European or other institutions worldwide; and the French Baccalaureate, the Swiss Federal bilingual (French/English) Maturit? and the French-language IB.
During a one-week period in the fall term, students in the High School and their French counterparts participate in a wide range of activities which are an extension of the regular academic and recreational programme. Students also benefit during the year from cultural, sporting and curriculum exchanges which bring them in close contact with their student colleagues in the US and Mexico.
The 9-hectare campus includes a new building complex housing two auditoriums, nine well-appointed science laboratories, a library, computer centre, music rooms and two cafeterias seating, respectively, 200 and 250, as well as modern and spacious classrooms, 12 boarding houses providing accommodation for 260 boys and girls grouped by age.
College du L?an has recently been incorporated into the Meritas family of schools, a network of premium preparatory schools focused on educational excellence in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
