Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science Taiwan





To prepare the professionals in the fields of Pharmacy, Health, and Management, Mr.Chen Wang, the founder, planned to establish "Chia Nan Junior College of Pharmacy" in 1964. The college was formally founded in 1966 with the accreditation by the Ministry of Education. Under the leading of the president Dr. Chao-Hsiung Wang from 1974 on, the university has been authorized by the Ministry of Education to change the name to "Chia Nan College of Pharmacy and Science" in 1996, providing both junior college program and two-year program of the college in July 1996, and four-year program of the  

college in 1998. In recognition of the stride made by the institution and the services it was offering both  

to students and to the society, the Ministry of Education in August 2000 authorized this  

institution to change the name once more to "Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and  

Science". By then the junior college had ceased operating, and a program of Teacher  

Education for Secondary Schools was added.  

In 2001 there will be one more Bachelor's program: Hotel and Restaurant  

Management, two Masters programs: Biotechnology , and Environmental Engineering and  

Health, and a program of Teacher education for Early Childhood Education.

This university is continuing to make efforts on the qualities of teaching performance, academic research , campus enlargement, and the supplies of both software and hardware. It is to prepare itself as a university featuring in the fields of Pharmacy, Health, and Management. This university seeks to contribute to the professional advancement of its students and alumni and to the enrichment of the society Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science
