The Yüzyil Isil High School is located in a pleasantly wooded area on the northern outskirts of Istanbul. It is a co-educational day national school regulated and inspected by the Turkish Ministry of Education. The school has a Foundation Board of Directors and a Parents' Association.
The Yüzyil Isil High School, which opened in September 1995, aims to educate the whole student under the motto: Knowledge, Friendship and Success. The school is organized into departments: English, Turkish Studies, social studies, mathematics, information technology (IT) and science. English, science, IT, applied arts and mathematics are taught in English. A well-qualified staff of expatriate and Turkish teachers works to provide a bilingual/bicultural disciplined academically rigorous education within a supporting and understanding learning environment a the Yüzyil Isil High School.
Entrance to the Yüzyil Isil High School is by competitive examination. In the High School years, students are prepared for the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. There are features of a British education, a House system and extracurricular activities.
Yüzyil Isil High School facilities include a well-equipped sports hall, outdoor sports facilities, two libraries, science and computer laboratories, music and art rooms, a 320-seat auditorium and three dining halls.
The Yüzyil Isil High School school day is from 08: 20 to 15: 40, Monday to Friday. There are approximately 180 student learning days within three semesters from September to the following mid-June, with a two-week break in February and one-week break in November. The main holiday occurs during July and August.
