The University of Exeter
"Exeter is very easy to fall in love with. It has
one of the most beautiful campuses in the country, in one of the most
beautiful counties in Britain."
A Picturesque Safe Campus The Streatham Campus, which is the home to the majority of the university's 10,500 students is built around a former country estate and overlooks the city, which is only a short walk away. The grounds are noted for the collection of rare trees and other plant species, which flourish in the milder climate of the South West region. In fact the University is reputed to have one of the most beautiful campuses in the United Kingdom. The teaching buildings, the Library, Postgraduate centre, Sports Halls and the student amenity buildings are all conveniently situated within walking distance of each other. The halls of residence and most of the University flats are only a short walk away so you will not have to waste time and money on travelling. ST LUnited KingdomE'S CAMBORNE SCHOOL OF MINES

by Britain's top 200 employers. These are companies like Proctor and
Gamble, HSBC, Esso and Boots. The University offers a careers advice
service which runs a comprehensive programme of events, including
guidance interviews, employer presentations, skills events, practice job
interviews with employers and guidance on preparing your CV and making
applications. So when you return to your home country you will be

Quality of Teaching Exeter has an excellent reputation for its teaching and research and we are are committed to maintaining our high standards. The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) reviews individual subjects on an on going basis . Under these reviews, fifteen schools at Exeter University have scored an "excellent" (22+points) rating. We also aim for students to have as much choice as possible in their studies. This could involve taking modules outside your own main subject area, or studying for up to one year in a University in Europe.
Situated close to National Parks and beautiful coastline Some of the most stunning countryside in Britain is
right on the doorstep. The national parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor and the
heritage coastline of Devon and Cornwall provide not only spectacular
scenery, but also plentiful opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast
including cycling, hiking, sailing, surfing, canoeing and climbing. Of
course, you can enjoy the countryside and beaches in a more relaxed
fashion. The coastal town of Exmouth with its sandy beaches is only 20
minutes away on the train. Many students venture there to enjoy the
legendary ice creams!
Excellent IT Facilities Information Technology service provide a wide range of services throughout the university including open access computer rooms which are based on clusters of PC compatible computers. Most of these rooms are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are facilities on campus for students who have their own lap top, with 97% of all university owned rooms equipped with a high speed connection to the University data network. Students are encouraged to use email so you will be able to communicate with other users anywhere in the world at no cost. The university also provides web based email so even users are in their home country they can link in to the network.
Historic university with alumni around the world The University of Exeter was granted its Royal Charter in 1955. Since then, the university has gone from strength to strength. At Exeter we do not believe that your University life must end at graduation and all former students are encouraged to join the Exeter University alumni association. Presently we have over 42,000 active alumni members. The network aims to be responsive to alumni needs, co-ordinating a variety of services, including reunions and professional networking events. Many countries have their own Exeter University alumni groups, holding reunions on a regular basis. These events allow you to network and keep in touch with old friends once you return to your home country.
Excellent Sports facilities The sports facilities at Exeter University are of a high standard and we have achieved excellent results over many years in the National Student Championships. We are currently undertaking a £4 million redevelopment programme. Updated facilities now include two synthetic turf pitches, one water based, Bodyworx health and fitness studio, and a martial arts studio. On the Streatham Campus there is a large sports centre. The main Hall is used for a variety of sports including archery, football, hockey, basketball, netball, volleyball, tennis, badminton and indoor cricket, and there are 8 squash courts. There is also a climbing wall and traversing wall. A popular aerobics programme operates from the centre, along with other courses in activities such as Tai Chi, yoga and dance. At the St. LUnited Kingdome's Campus, the PE block houses two sports halls, a weight training room and a heated indoor swimming pool. There are more than 20 tennis courts on the two campuses. The Sailing club keeps a fleet of Lark dinghies at Starcross Yacht Club on the estuary and the Boat Club has a well-equipped boathouse on the Exeter Canal.
Accommodation We are delighted that we can guarantee accommodation for all full-time unaccompanied students from outside the EEA for the first year of their studies providing they return their application and deposit by 31 July. We have around 4,200 places for both postgraduates and undergraduates in halls of residence and self catering flats. All the accommodation is either on campus or close by, within easy walking distance of teaching buildings, so you will not waste money or time in travelling. Most study bedrooms in the Halls and flats have a telephone and IT links. We recommend that undergraduates live in Halls for the first year as it is a great way to make friends who are not on your course. In Halls of Residence, you will be provided with 3 meals a day, 7 days a week…. a bonus for those of you who have never lived away from home before!! We offer self catering accommodation to post graduates as you are then free to cook your own food and devise your schedule accordingly.
