The University has excellent links with institutions in Europe through the ERASMUS and SOCRATES schemes and with the People's Republic of China. It also has direct links with a number of institutions in the United States. Many of our European exchange schemes offer the opportunity to study at a partner institution and gain an academic award or professional qualification from that country as well as a United Kingdom degree or diploma. The University has extensive computing facilities available across the campus through a PC network and the newly extended and refurbished Library and Learning Resource Service provides access to national and international resources through online database access as well as the internet. The Department of Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire is based in Harrington Building, which was opened on 1995. We are close to the University Library and the Student Union Building, and surrounded by Halls of Residence Student amenities on the campus include shops, restaurants, travel, clubs and societies, sports centre, arts centre, creche facilities and the Students' Union Building.
