Study at George C Wallace State Community College SelmaGeorge C. Wallace State Community College Selma, commonly referred to as Wallace Community College Selma or WCCS, was founded in 1963. Initially known as the William Rufus King State Vocational Technical School, the name was changed to George C. Wallace State Junior College and Technical Institute in 1970. It finally became the George Corley Wallace State Community College in 1973. Located in Selma, Alabama, the college has off-campus centers in Clanton, and Craig Field. WCCS's recent enrollments have been more than 1,500 students every year. George C. Wallace State Community College Selma offers associate’s degrees in the fields of business administration, business management and supervision, computer information systems, and nursing. Certificate programs in business administration, criminal justice, and fire science are also available. The athletics department of WCCS sponsors men’s and women’s teams in basketball, baseball, and volleyball.
