Lawson State Community College, also known as LSCC, is a comprehensive, public, two-year College with campuses located in Bessemer and Birmingham. It was established in the year 1949 as the Wenonah State Technical Institute. It merged with Lawson State Junior College in 1973 and became Lawson State Community College. The college is organized into following divisions:
LSCC's athletics department sponsors several men's and women's sports teams.
