University of Arizona is a college of higher education situated in Tucson, Arizona, United States. This space-grant and land-grant public university, established in 1885, was the first university in Arizona. The main campus occupies nearly 380 acres of land and has 179 buildings. University of Arizona's sports teams are known as the Wildcats. The colors are navy blue and cardinal red. The university has basketball, baseball, football, softball, golf, and various other sports teams. Some notable alumni of the school include Richard Carmona, former U.S. Surgeon General; William Rathje, archaeologist and garbologist; Jerry Bruckheimer, film and television producer; and Samaire Armstrong, actress.
