Pharmacy
Technician:
The Pharmacy
Technician program is a great choice if you love working with
people. Medical advances, combined with our aging population,
have created tremendous growth in this field. Being a Pharmacy
Technician is a huge responsibility, but it can be very
rewarding as well.
American Career College’s Pharmacy Technician program is
designed to provide students with the technical knowledge and
practical skills necessary for an entry-level technician
position in a retail, hospital or home health pharmacy. You'll
learn dosage calculations, product recognition, and drug
distribution systems. Major emphasis is placed on learning the
trade and generic names of selected drugs and their
classification. You'll also learn pharmaceutical and medical
terminology including abbreviations and symbols used in
prescribing, dispensing and charting. Basic anatomy and related
pathological conditions are also introduced.
