Profile of Central Coast College Founded in 1983 with 20 students and two staff members, Central Coast College originally offered only a single program of typing and data processing. Since that time, the College has expanded to a present-day enrollment of several hundred students and today offers training in Computer office Administration, Accounting, Medical office Administration/Billing and Medical Assisting. Located in Salinas, California, the College believes strongly in a holistic approach to training as preparation for the workplace. Central Coast College Admissions The application process is very easy. An information form is available on-line. Applicants can simply submit the request information page electronically or directly contact the school's Admissions Department. The Admissions Team will then listen to the applicant's personal interests, help him/her identify goals, and assist in selecting a training program. Central Coast College Faculty Quality The Central Coast faculty prides itself on possessing and sharing knowledge and real-world experience. On average, faculty members have nearly 20 years experience. Instructors help to provide students with “real world” experience, help them make connections between academic and practical use of training, and bring about greater understanding of career expectations. Faculty members regularly attend workshops and conferences to sharpen teaching and administrative skills. Central Coast College Student Enrollment Current enrollment is approximately 350 students. Females comprise about 85% of this total. Approximately 65% of the Student Enrollment consists of full-time students. Central Coast College Student Life The Central Coast site is a commuter campus which offers its students an opportunity to gain work experience while they are still in school. Various Internships and Federal Work Study positions are available both on and off-campus. Graduates are also provided with career placement assistance which strives to make the transition from school to work as brief and as smooth as possible.
