Loyola Marymount University is a comprehensive co-educational private Roman Catholic Jesuit university, located in Los Angeles, California. LMU was created in 1973 by the union of Marymount College and Loyola University in Los Angeles.

LMU's campus covers an area of 150 acres. It offers several programs and degrees through the following colleges and schools:

The admissions department at Loyola Marymount does not accept all those who apply. Most students' verbal SAT scores were in the range of 520 to 620 in 2007. A quarter of students admitted in 2007 scored 640 or higher on the math SAT.
