MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The MBA has increasingly become a must-have degree for business
executives. Flexibility is a hallmark of the Jones International
University MBA Programs. We recognize that not every MBA student has the
same needs and interests. That’s why we offer several different degree
specializations that are relevant to the knowledge-based, global
economy. These specializations allow you to tailor the degree to fit
your career and learning goals.
DEGREE SPECIALIZATIONS
MBA in Accounting
Overview: Accountants play numerous roles in today's organizations
including budget analysis, financial and investment planning,
information technology consulting, and even limited legal services in
addition to the traditional role of preparing, analyzing, and verifying
financial documents. The CPA is the predominant certification process
for accountants. The JIU accounting program is specifically developed to
meet the AICPA’s 150 credit hour requirement. Students with a standard
Bachelors of Business in Accounting at 120 credit hours can take the 30
credit hour accounting component of the MBA to meet the AICPA standards
or elect to take all 42 credit hours and receive an MBA as well.
Additionally, students with a Bachelors in Business who did not major in
accounting, but wish to change fields, can take the 5 JIU Bachelor level
Accounting courses in addition to the MBA level courses to meet AICPA
education standards.
MBA in Entrepreneurship
Overview: Today's entrepreneurial landscape is fertile and fast paced,
within both large organizations and small start-up companies. The MBA in
Entrepreneurship degree program will allow you to explore the challenges
and opportunities faced by such enterprises, including strategies for
addressing technology, growth, and human resource issues.
MBA in Finance
Overview: Finance is one of the fundamental languages of business.
Managers and executives in global organizations must be conversant in
this language. JIU's MBA in Finance degree program is designed to
provide knowledge and skills in critical areas such as multinational
corporate financial management, investment and portfolio analysis and
management, and current issues in corporate finance.
MBA in Global Enterprise Management
Overview: Mastering the skills of a great mentor, creative thinker, and
effective communicator is critical to successful international
management decision making. JIU’s MBA in Global Enterprise Management
degree program focuses on these skills and the knowledge necessary to
manage effectively in a global, diverse business environment.
MBA in Health Care Management
Overview: The health care industry is a unique business environment with
its own economic, communication, and technology issues. In the MBA in
Health Care Management degree program, you will master the knowledge
necessary to meet these and other health care business needs.
MBA in Information Security Management
Overview: The MBA in ISM is business-oriented and focuses on information
risk management while addressing management, design and technical
security, and business continuity issues at both a conceptual and
practical level.
MBA in Information Technology Management
Overview: The knowledge and skills necessary to manage knowledge
workers, technological innovation, and globalization issues are always
in high demand. In the MBA in Information Technology Management degree
program, you learn techniques for anticipating and implementing
technological advances that are critical to future business success.
MBA in Negotiation and Conflict Management
Overview: Effective leaders and managers must apply key principles of
negotiation, decision making, and conflict management. In the MBA in
Negotiation and Conflict Management degree program, you will learn to
respond to the rising demands of corporations for leadership in the
areas of ethical negotiations and conflict resolution.
MBA in Project Management
Overview: Designed by the authors of the Project Management Institute
certification test, the MBA in Project Management degree program
provides you access to the theories, skills, and practical knowledge
needed to become a certified project manager. In addition, you learn the
skills needed to excel in managing project-based work teams.
