The University
Hands-On Education With a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio, and an average class size of 25, the unique learning community at Florida Tech provides an atmosphere of teamwork, inspiration and personal attention. The university offers more than 145 science, engineering, aviation, marine biology, business, psychology and communication degree programs designed to challenge students to reach their full academic and professional potential. As part of a hands-on curriculum, students participate in sponsored research programs for solutions to real-world problems; laboratory experiments in state-of-the-art facilities; multi-disciplinary design projects; work-study; cooperative education; and internship opportunities.

Student Life
Athletics Florida Tech competes in 15 varsity sports and is a member of NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference.

The new, 57,000-square-foot Charles and Ruth Clemente Center for Sports and Recreation is designed for intercollegiate, intramural and recreational sports and fitness programs in addition to university and community events. The facility features: a complete weight training center; varsity and intramural courts; aerobics and group fitness classrooms; walking track; racquetball court; and food service cafe.
Admission Guidelines Florida Tech operates on a rolling admission basis. Admission applications are reviewed throughout the year as they are received.
Applicants to Florida Tech must demonstrate the readiness to succeed in a challenging academic curriculum. The high school transcript is the most important element of the application. While no minimum grade point average, class rank or standardized test score is specified, these measures must indicate a readiness for college studies in a chosen academic program.
International Applicants are encouraged to apply, and will be evaluated on the basis of the same criteria as all other students except that SAT or ACT scores are not required. English language proficiency is not required for admission, but enrollment in academic courses will be limited until English proficiency can be demonstrated for all whose native language is not English. The “Languages and Linguistics” section of the catalog, available on-line at www.fit.edu/catalog describes the ways in which English proficiency may be established, either in advance of enrollment or after arrival at Florida Tech, and presents the courses available to help establish proficiency.
Financial Aid There are many different programs available to help cover the cost of higher education. Approximately 80% of Florida Tech students qualify for a combination of merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, educational loans, and school-year employment programs. Awards are based on academic promise, need, college costs and the availability of funds. Monthly installment plans are available for tuition and other expenses. The priority deadline for financial aid is March 15.
How to Apply Students can apply online or print a copy of the Florida Tech application. The online application fee is $40 and must be paid by credit card. If applying by paper application, the application fee is $50. Checks should be made payable to Florida Tech. Include the applicant's name on the check, and mail it to:
