’s Master of Arts (MA) in Marriage
& Family Therapy Program provides graduate-level training in the
core curricular areas, including supervised clinical practice,
required for licensure as a marriage and family therapist in the
state in which the program is located. Licensing requirements differ
from state to state, so students should verify the current licensing
requirements of the state in which they plan to become licensed.
Currently, the MA in Marriage and Family Therapy Program is offered at

University, Twin Cities offers students an optional concentration in
Forensic Counseling within the program.
Students will develop leadership skills in the areas of supervision
and teaching of systemic practice. Student-directed components in
the Concentration, Internship and Applied Clinical Project afford
students opportunities to pursue specific application of systemic
approaches. It will prepare graduates for careers as clinical
supervisors, graduate level teachers, private practitioners and
agency administrators.
