National-Louis University was established in 1886 as Miss Harrison's Training School. It became the National College of Education in 1930, and was renamed the National-Louis University in 1990. The university offers a host of bachelor degrees in education, psychology, business, health care, leadership and counseling. NLU also offers a number of distance learning programs in various Course Topics. The National-Louis University has 3 colleges under it:
